Schönbrunn Palace Concerts 2009

The Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra is a highly professional chamber orchestra successfully playing since its foundation in 1994. The ensemble, since a long time in the center of the Viennese musical- and cultural life, present their guests outstanding classical concerts in the historical Orangery of Palace Schoenbrunn.

The daily changing program with the most beautiful overtures, arias and duets from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's operas like "The Marriage of Figaro", "The Magic Flute" as well as the most acclaimed waltzes and polkas by the "king of waltz" Johann Strauß attract and fascinate each day an international audience! Two charming opera singers and a ballet couple dressed in historical costumes will delight you throughout the concert evening.

The magnificent Schönbrunn Orangery a place rich of tradititon, is a highly suited venue for an evening of classical music. In former times the Habsburg royalties had used it very often for festivities. During one of these celebrations the guests witnessed the musical competition between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, unique and unsurpassed ever since!
